4th Grade 'California Walk-Through' a Success:
On November 25th in the lower school MPR, TVT fourth graders were
whisked away by the California Weekly Explorer time machine! Starting at
1000 years before yesterday, research and preparation in hand, the
students actively participated in a "California Walk Through" and had a
blast exploring our state's colorful history. From Chumash canoe
carving, to the Spanish national anthem, on through earthquakes and
traffic management, the fourth graders felt a connection to their home
state like never before. Each of the explorers were able to be an
integral part of the story, as they listened for the term they had
become experts on and joined the host in explaining their definitions
and answering a few detailed questions. Many thanks to our audience of
parents, administration - and to the children's delight, Papa Gelman!
Fourth graders were reluctant to return to 2008 after an exhilarating
day of history and culture. |
