Tarbut V’Torah’s Upper School athletic program began 1996-97 when the Upper School was opened. A boys basketball team and a girls volleyball team made up the roster of sports teams that first year.

Today, the Lions field 15 boys and girls competitive sports teams that play in the San Joaquin League of the 5AA CIF Southern Section, including this year the addition of a boys golf team. 5AA designation is for schools with enrollment between 150-600 students.

Since 2000, TVT sports teams have advanced to CIF Southern California Section playoffs 48 times including 11 consecutive years in boys basketball. TVT Lions have won 9 league Championships.
