    “I love being a mentor for our current youth. For starters, they inspire me and give me hope with regards to the future. But, I also love getting to know each student on a personal level, where worldviews, beliefs and values are shared.”

    Mr. Rastello graduated from Chapman University with a BFA in Film/Television with an emphasis in Broadcast/Journalism. He then attended Loyola Marymount University where he received his MA in Counseling. Upon graduation from Loyola Marymount University, Mr. Rastello took a job in admission at Chapman University where he worked as an admission counselor for one year, recruiting within the Orange County area. He then switched sides taking a job as a high school counselor at JSerra Catholic High School where he worked for three years. Since that position, Mr. Rastello, has also worked as a counselor at Laguna Beach High School, prior to joining the staff at Tarbut. Beyond being a Director of College Counseling, he is also the Co-Chair of the NACAC College Fair for Orange County.

    In his free time, Mr. Rastello plays soccer on Sundays with Tarbut students as well as teachers, enjoys swimming and running, watching sporting events (anything besides NASCAR!) and pretty much any programming on HBO.

    Grace received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from California State University, Fullerton. She joined TVT in 2001 and has worked as an administrative assistant in both the Business Office and Development. In 2008 she transitioned to the Assistant to the Middle and Upper School Principal and Registrar. During this time, she enjoyed working with high school students and decided to pursue a College Counseling certificate from UCLA Extension. 

    During her free time she loves to read and spend time with her family and friends.

    Ms. Kanen earned her B.A. in Elementary Education from The University of Arizona and has been teaching since 2013.

    Teaching is Ms. Kanen's true passion. Watching her students make progress both academically and socially throughout each year is the most rewarding gift. Ms. Kanen loves making meaningful connections year after year with her students while shaping their young minds and helping them develop into well-rounded citizens. She believes teaching is truly a work of heart!

    In her free time, Ms. Kanen enjoys spending time with friends and family. She also loves going to concerts, the beach, and traveling!

    Rebbetzin Carina Rock is passionate about fostering vibrant Jewish life and building Jewish community, and is committed to infusing Jewish education and values into her work. Rebbetzin Rock loves working at TVT, with students from TK through 12th grade, bridging Jewish living with building a strong TVT community for all students, staff, and families.  Through access points in the classroom, schoolwide programs, and special initiatives Rebbetzin Rock weaves art, music, creativity, and Jewish thought into TVT’s Jewish Experience. 

    Rebbetzin Rock has a BFA in Visual Arts from York University,  a Certificate in Jewish Studies, and a Masters in Jewish Education from Pardes Institute in Jerusalem in partnership with Hebrew University and Hebrew College.  Before coming to TVT Rebbetzin Rock worked as Congregational Leader with her husband, Rabbi Rock, and was the Director of a Jewish ed-tech start-up creating online curriculum and training teachers in the creative use of technology and blended learning. 

    To relax Rebbetzin Rock loves to make art with her 4 children and is known to bring wagons of art supplies to the beach, spending the day painting how the colors of the ocean and the sky change over the course of the day.  Rebbetzin Rock is honored to be working at TVT helping to bring Judaism to students' lives every day.

    Morah Cristina earned a BA in Elementary Education at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. She also completed her M.A in Education and obtained her teaching credential through Regis. Morah Cristina has enjoyed teaching children in both Colorado and California. 
     
    In her spare time, Mora Cristina loves coaching lacrosse at Foothill high school, spending time at the beach with her dogs and husband, and enjoying the company of her friends and family.

    Ms. Romanelli earned a B.A. in Liberal Studies as well as a multiple subject credential from California State University, Long Beach. She has had multiple years of experience with specialized speech therapy and phonemic awareness instruction. She spent time teaching in a public school, then transitioned into a private school setting where she taught for several years. Before her time at TVT, she was a department head for primary grades at a private institution where she oversaw student progress and data collection.

    In Ms. Romanelli's free time, she enjoys spending time outside hiking, camping, or just reading a book.

    Ms. Cyndi has a love of children and a passion for Early Childhood education. She taught preschool for 16 years before moving into an administrative role at TVT. In her spare time, you can find her spending time with her family or by a pool reading a good book.
