Jewish Studies

Holiday and Shabbat celebration, daily prayers and blessings, and yearly exhibitions of Jewish mastery give TVT students rich Jewish memories. As students grow at TVT, the Jewish Studies Program seeks to engage students in the “conversations that really matter.”  We focus on the great moral teaching from the study of Torah, Talmud, Jewish law, and Jewish history to ground our discussions and inspire our actions. Our program challenges students to become empathetic upstanders and to engage in tikkun olam, repairing our broken world.

At TVT, we encourage students to opt in, engage, and respond creatively to the practices and beliefs that define our tradition. TVT exposes students to the multifaceted spectrum of the Jewish experience and challenges them to articulate their identity with pride.

Lastly, TVT teaches the essential Jewish skills that will allow graduates to participate in any Jewish community.  Through the combination of knowledge and know-how, a TVT graduate will have the tools and the confidence to help a creative and compassionate Judaism of the future flourish.
