4th Grade Gold Rush Overnight Trip to Riley's Farm

What better way to wrap up a week's worth of CTP4 testing than having fun on an overnight field trip!
For many fourth graders, it was their first official school overnight trip, and they could not have been more excited (and a bit nervous). After getting to sleep in on Monday and arriving to school at 12:00 pm, they started their evening activities at Riley's Farm  by carrying their teachers uphill in covered wagons, a tomahawk throwing contest, line dancing, and even a bit of hail.

Of course, these fourth graders proved their perseverance by remaining impervious to the cold mountain weather and marched on to Tuesday morning where they embarked on a journey back in time to the 1848 Gold Rush era. There, all fourth graders worked as argonauts panning for gold or squatted as workers in different colonial stations to earn "money" to bid in a live auction.

As a perfect send off, we could not say goodbye to Riley's Farm without trying their infamous Apple Pie Crumble. We came home singing and happy with bountiful stories to share; just ask one of us!
