Every gift—big or small—empowers our students, elevates our programs, and strengthens our mission to provide a Jewish education in Orange County. Tuition funds 85-90% of TVT’s operating budget, and philanthropic contributions ensure we have the resources to fuel our educational vision and goals. All gifts to the TVT Fund for annual support are significant to corporations and foundations as they make decisions on grants, as well as prospective donors who are considering major gifts.
The TVT Fund is our most important annual priority as it provides resources needed for the academic year that are not covered by tuition alone. Your gifts help bridge the gap between tuition and the full TVT experience, ensuring innovation, excellence, and opportunity thrive on our campus. Your gifts are put to immediate use to benefit our students and teachers, and provide us with agility and flexibility to meet unexpected needs and opportunities.
In short, the money raised for the annual fund supports everything, it’s part of “doing everything we can for our students!”
Celebrating 36 Who Sustain Us
For 36 years, so many have given their time, talent, generosity, and care to help TVT grow. Some of their contributions are familiar. Others happen quietly, behind the scenes, or in moments known only to the people whose lives they touched.
This year’s TVT Fund campaign invites us to get to know some of those people through their own TVT stories.
Our inspiration comes from the Jewish tradition of the Lamed Vavniks: 36 hidden righteous people whose goodness helps sustain the world. They are the unsung heroes—people who do good without seeking recognition. In TVT’s 36th year, this tradition offers a meaningful way to celebrate the people who have helped sustain our school, often without expecting thanks.
Earlier this fall, we invited our community to nominate people from any chapter of TVT’s history whose contributions deserved to be known. Drawing from those nominations, we selected 36 individuals to take part in this year’s campaign.
Thirty-six gives this campaign its shape, but it cannot capture everyone who deserves our gratitude. We could not include every nominee, and there are countless others whose contributions have made a lasting difference. Every member of this community has a place in TVT’s story. Through these 36 voices, we hope to celebrate the school that so many people have helped build.
Their reflections offer a personal look at the lasting value of a TVT education: the learning that opens possibilities, the relationships that continue long after graduation, and the Jewish identity and sense of responsibility students carry into their lives.
