TVT Community Day School Announces Jill Quigley as
New Head of School Beginning July 2022

Irvine, CA --  Tarbut V’Torah (TVT), a pluralistic K-12 Jewish day school ranked as the #1 Jewish school in the United States and #1 k-12 school in Orange County, announced that Jill Quigley, TVT’s current Principal of Middle and Upper School, will assume the role of Head of School in July 2022. Quigley has more than 22 years of experience working in education in a variety of roles. She will succeed current Head of School Jeff Davis, following eight years at TVT and who oversaw unprecedented growth in enrollment, academic excellence, and financial sustainability.

“Following our rigorous search process, the Board of Trustees unanimously selected Jill to be TVT’s next Head of School,” says Alison Nightingale, President of TVT Board of Trustees. “She will bring inspiring, visionary leadership to her new role and will continue to strengthen our community. For the last seven years at TVT, we all have seen her commitment to nurturing and developing our students’ potential and character. We know the person and the leader we are getting in Jill—and we are excited to have Jill continue TVT’s upward trajectory.”

As Principal of the Middle and Upper School, Quigley has overseen the implementation of the Dean model and Character @TVT - both of which serve to ensure student social, emotional and academic well-being. Prior to joining TVT, she was an administrator and English and Jewish Studies teacher at San Diego Jewish Academy. Early in her career, she taught English at Carmel Middle School and Durango High School. Over the next 18 months, Quigley will work with Davis and the TVT board of trustees to ensure a smooth transition. In the fall, Quigley will lead the process, which will include faculty, students and parents, to find her replacement for Principal of the Middle and Upper School.

“TVT is such a special place—all of our families and teachers create a uniquely warm and inclusive community,” says Jill Quigley. “I am honored that the TVT Board selected me as the next Head of School. Together with the entire leadership team, we will build on the remarkable last eight years under Jeff’s leadership as we continue to go from strength to strength. Every student has the opportunity to thrive at TVT, to grow both academically and personally, and to understand how they can make a positive difference in the world today.”

The TVT Board was especially attracted to Quigley’s deep connection to TVT’s community and commitment to its values. Located in Irvine, CA, TVT is rated the top K-12 Private School in Orange County and the top Jewish School in the country. The school emphasizes excellent academics and Jewish values that are imbued into the student experience. Its enrollment of nearly 700 students provides a foundation for fiscal sustainability.

Quigley received her M.A. in Jewish Studies in 2002 from Emory University where she specialized in modern Jewish history. She received a B.A. in English from Arizona State University in 1996.

“Having worked closely with Jill for the last seven years, I know how much our families love her and how she positively influences students’ lives,” says Jeff Davis, who will remain Head of School through the 2021/2022 school year. “TVT undoubtedly will continue to thrive. We have a special blend of Jewish life, rich academics, and meaningful community. Why change any of that?”
